About Us

Opened in September 2005, Sellynn Yarns is the newest yarn store in the CSRA. Selly Goodwin and Lynn Anderson wanted a place to reflect their belief that we are all really "Knit Together" and as women want and need the opportunity to share the crafts and skills of "Making things from fibers". Sellynn Yarns is different in that the vision was to have a place for people to come and sit and knit awhile and share their stories as well as ideas. This is the modern version of the old quilting circle. We have an active "Knit for others" program which meets on Thursday mornings. At all times there is an experienced knitter on site to help with patterns, and "Knit-stuck" projects. There are often 8-12 sitting around our large table working on a project, sharing the fellowship and knowledge, ready to help each other. By the way, it made sense to sell the supplies needed for the craft and help pay the rent.

Our constant who keeps the place running is Linda Severson. Always here, always ready to help, Linda is our Store Manager.

One of the joys of this place is the gift of those who volunteer their time and talent to make this gift to the community a reality. Thanks to Jackie Bockman, Diane Brodeur, Suzanne Coffey, Pam Lien, Melinda Murphy, Sally Purvis, and Abi White
